The smaller monitor can actually be used as a secondary portable monitor for a laptop, or even a standalone unit on your desk. You do not have to use it as an attachment to the 22-inch monitor that it comes with.

The Syncmaster 2263DX not only offers a functional dual monitoring setup for small offices, but provides a solid platform for teleconferencing as well. There is a 3.0M webcam, 1.5W down firing speakers, and a microphone - all built right into the monitor itself. The secondary monitor, the 7-inch one, is perfect for the video aspect of a teleconference.

The Basics Of Sleeve Alterations

One of our friends recently found a beautiful blouse; bought it, and brought it home. Then she realized the blouse was long sleeved, and she had never altered a blouse before. She set the blouse on her cutting table, and thought to herself. This is the a great blouse. I love it. If I try to shorten the sleeves, I could ruin it.

About the same time, my husband David and I were in our closet at home. David was looking for a clean shirt. It has turned hot here in Texas, I mean hot. He realized that he did not have a decent short sleeved shirt. So, we decided to shorten the long sleeved shirts, and maybe this fall we will buy a whole new wardrobe of long sleeved shirts.

Why would you alter a perfectly good blouse or shirt? Why would you cut off a perfectly good sleeve? There are many possible needs: comfort, style, repair, just want to. The more apt question is how do you alter a sleeve?

What kind of sleeve would you like? You can create many variations including short sleeve, sleeveless, or three quarter sleeve. In addition to length you can add creative touches like cuffs, lace, or frills. There are lots of choices, but once you understand the basics, the project is quite easy.

Initially, identify how long you want the sleeve to be. Since you have many options, you must decide. If it is helpful compare other shirts you have until you get a good idea what you really want.

Second, Measure both under- arm seam and at the shoulder. Add 1 " to this measurement, and mark the fabric with a fabric marker.

Step Three, cut straight across the sleeve between the outer and under measurement marks.

Step Four, remove the stitching along the inside of the sleeve to the underarm seam. Keep in mind that the shape of the sleeve tapers. You will need to carefully reshape the sleeve to avoid binding under the arm. To accomplish this, seam on the inside of the sleeve along the taper.

To accommodate for the tapering, you will need to reverse the taper angle for the final inch and a half. This way when the hem is folded in, it will match the taper.

Step Five, complete the hem. Look at the blouse. Do you see any top stitching? If so, you may simply fold the fabric under and top stitch. Otherwise, you will need to install a blind hem. Turn half an inch under and press with your iron. Fold another one inch and press again. Sew.

Your sewing machine may have a specialty stitch called the blind hem stitch. You can use this stitch with the specialty blind hem foot to produce your blind hem. You can also get exceptional professional results using a specialty machine called a blind hemmer.

Adobe Photoshop - Restoring your Old Photos

There are times that people may have old photographs they would like to restore to save the memories. Photos usually get damaged through the times. The pictures may get blurred, the color fades and the picture might acquire marks and scratches. Thank the technology of today. People can now save and restore their old photos with the help of Photoshop.

The person may use the Elements in Photoshop, which are Dust and Scratch Filter to remove the marks, scratches and blots in the photo. The Dust and Scratches Filter is located on the Menu Bar and click on the Filter Tab. A drop down will list elements and then he can choose the Noise tab and select on the Dust and Scratches.

After clicking on the Dust and Scratches menu, a window will pop up with two control sliders. The first slider is for the Radius and the other one is for the Threshold. There will also be another window if the preview box will be checked. These are the main options that will be used in treating the picture.

The Radius slider may do away with the scratches through adjustments. Please take note that overdoing this process may result in the edges blurring. Should this happen, adjust the Threshold slider to raise the clarity of details and make the picture crisper with the scratches vanishing. Be careful though not to adjust either slider too far or it may result in blotches on the photo.

In removing the marks, selecting the whole photo will not diffuse these marks. The option is to select only the part where the scratches are located. He may use the Lasso to do this.

You can feather the edges of the selected area treated so that the correction and the fact that a portion of the photo has been altered will not be apparent in the overall photo. Do this by clicking on the Feather option and choose the Scratch and Dust Filter again. Repeat the process of adjusting the Radius and Threshold sliders another time to achieve the texture desired and eliminate the scratches.

If there are still visible marks on the other parts of the picture, he can do the technique again by selecting the areas he would like to adjust. To finish the process and make the picture presentable, he can crop the image enough to remove the cracks and torn edges of the picture. The canvas may be use to equally crop the image.

You can insert drama into the picture by adding a drop shadow to it. This will make the picture seem as if it has been lifted off the page. The color may also be removed using the controls Shift+Ctrl+U. You can then add color by adding a small amount of Sepia using the Hue or Saturation tab. The contrast may be balanced using the Levels option.

This is one easy way on how to remove the blotches and marks on an old picture. This is also a good way to make the picture look new but still appear classical. It will be a pleasant and easy way to display pictures kept on old albums and cabinets for a long time.

Using a leather repair kit will usually hide the tear and hopefully prevent further damage. The problem with using a leather repair kit is the damaged area will always be weaker. The other thing you can do of course is have someone replace the damaged section of leather and match the color professionally. This is the best repair, but also the most costly.

Stuck together leather confronts a challenge. If you've a leather article with sides, such as a pocketbook that appear to be stuck together, looking inside to ascertain if you'll be able to tell precisely where the sides are binding. Hold the item over a pot of boiling water ? but not too closely and don't let the pocketbook to get too wet. If you've done the work we've discussed in the first 4 installments of this series, you've got to be feeling pretty great about your life focus and your business right now. Through the first 4 weeks you've worked on knowing who you are, where you're starting from, where you want to go, how you're going to get there and how to ramp up your sales and marketing program using better communications skills to bring in more cash.

Now it's time for a mentoring blueprint.

In other blueprints I've mentioned that the top 3% of the people in the world have such a different life than the other 97% because they look at life differently and they make conscious choices. I told you that one of those conscious choices is to create a plan for building their business and it's day to day operations for growth and financial prosperity.

Another very crucial conscious choice the top 3% of people make is to invest in themselves.

Once again, first you have to know your starting point. The next step is to evaluate how you feel about where you are and then decide where you would like to take it next. You need to be laser focused and absolutely clear on what your next step is to get the best results from mentoring. If you're not you could pick the wrong thing to be mentored on or the wrong time to do it.

It is likely that as you progress on your path you will have more than one mentor for different parts of your life or business working with you at the same time.

I have said many times that you should be willing to invest at least 10% of your income in your own growth if you are really serious. Then find the mentors that understand where it is that you want to go and have the experience to take you there.

Here is where I differ with what many coaches and gurus will tell you. They will say that you should only work with someone who has done what you want to do and mentored others to do the same.

But that's not the whole story.

Where would Tiger Woods be today if he took that advice? His coaches have not been the best golfers in the world at any time in their careers; far from it.

Some people are gifted teachers and know the process of what needs to be done to get Tiger, or you, to the desired result without either the personal skill or perhaps the desire to reach that level themselves or possibly neither.

In my 25 year career as a salesperson, manager and trainer, I can tell you that the majority of the best salespeople couldn't train others to do what they do because they don't have the skill of a great teacher. That's not their gift. And yet someone who was an average salesperson can have an amazing understanding of the sales process and be an incredibly gifted mentor.

Some of the top gurus in your field may be the same way, the very best at what they do but not the best person to mentor someone to do the same.

If I were to share my personal preferences with you, I look for a mentor that understands what I want to accomplish. If I'm working with them one on one or in a small group, I want them to be excited about being involved in helping me reach that goal. I want them to have the skill level to be able to guide me through the process.

Are you getting the mentoring you need to grow your business and expand your level of personal growth?

Even more so than the other blueprints this is as extremely individualized so it's important that you make a decision based on your own gut feeling about your possible mentor. Don't just ask for a recommendation from a friend and assume that the relationship you will have with your mentor will be the same as theirs.

In this type of relationship, where you are getting personal mentoring, having a good fit of personalities is very important.

Remember that this is all about you. What you are passionate about, what you want your life to look like, the activities you choose to include in the way you create your business and the way you grow your business. Make those things clear to your prospective mentor and see if you are in alignment before proceeding.

It's your life. It's your business. It's your choice. Do what feels right to you.

Heaters for a seed germination and plant propagation greenhouse

Your plants will benefit from the extra heat but will also grow better with the additional CO2 which is generated from the all gas heaters.

Beware: its a lending jungle out there. Stalking the dense foliage of paperwork is a number of clauses designed to tear you apart and take away your home. Although there is no legal definition of so-called predatory lending, you need only turn on the financial news or skim the business section of any newspaper to see the far-flung effects of this monumental greed. Moreover, there are some laws in various states that target specific practices often identified as predatory. The loan industry is rife with corruption and the incredible number of foreclosures provides ample evidence.

A working definition of predatory lending, according to the Investors Dictionary is, the practice of a lender deceptively convincing borrowers to agree to unfair and abusive loan terms, or systematically violating those terms in ways that make it difficult for the borrower to defend against." There is overwhelming evidence that predatory lenders target racial minorities, the undereducated, and the elderly. Although predatory lending is often associated with mortgages, other forms of predatory lending include credit cards (surprise), payday loans, and overdraft loans.

What may be surprising to those of you who have not been taken advantage of is the fact most predatory lending is collateralized. In other words, these loans are only given with vehicles and homes as collateral. The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) supplies ample evidence that indeed the loan industry targets poor and minority families. Think predatory lenders work from seedy shack on the outskirts of town? ACORN successfully pressured HSBC Finance and H&R Block into changing some their predatory practices. Its been said the man who comes to repossess your home wears a suit and tie, not a ski mask.

To be sure, there is a number of subprime lending defenders. "Subprime" is a neutral way of characterizing what some people claim is predatory. The National Home Equity Mortgage Association (NHEMA) claims the practice of lending high-risk loans is essential for some families that would normally have no chance of owning a home or own a car. The ramifications of predatory lending are families that are straddled with tremendous interest rates and significant debt. The end result seems to be foreclosure. Pursuing debt settlement and mortgage refinancing are viable defenses against the predators.

What does the British Driver dislike?

By The variable speed limit is the source of many complaints. We are told that the variable speed limit improves the flow of motorway traffic, although many motorists are suspicious of this explanation and believe that the government's main aim is to catch motorists out. There is however some evidence that it has reduced accidents on some motorways. In spite of this many believe that it is more about revenue than safety. Even the safety of the variable speed limit has been questioned, because motorists do have to look out for signs of the speed limit changing when they should perhaps be looking at the road and every time it changes look at their speedometer or adjust their cruise control.

Contract Hire companies supply company vehicles, both cars and commercial, from a range of manufacturers. This means that a contract hire company tends to work in much closer contact with its clients than perhaps a main dealership, which is only supplying vehicles from one manufacturer.

Due to this very frequent contact we have with our contract hire clients, sometimes on a daily basis, we tend to hear the complaints they have about motoring in the UK. We also see the results of many of their complaints; contract hire and leasing companies as the registered keeper of the vehicles on contract hire, see the never ending flow of parking and speeding fines.

Not surprisingly top of the list of motorists complaints are speeding fines. It is not so much that motorists agree with speeding, most in fact do not; it is just that they feel the system is unfair. In particular it is the variable speed limit that comes in for the most criticism; where the speed limit can change up and down over a relatively short stretch of motorway, which apart from anything else causes a great deal of confusion.

The authorities say that the variable speed limit is designed to improve traffic flow, although they do not appear to have seriously considered a ban on heavy goods vehicles overtaking on motorways. This is the case on large sections of motorway in the Netherlands, which has the effect of increasing road capacity. Safety cameras are also designed to cut accidents and there is some evidence, for example on the M25 they have indeed cut accidents. However many motorists believe that it is simply a way of catching a motorist unaware and to impose a fine in order to increase government revenues. An interesting question with regard to variable speed limits is how safe is it for motorist to be constantly looking for warnings of changing speed limits and then at their speedometer? Even if the driver has cruise control they still take their eyes off the road each time they reset their cruise control.

Perhaps more sensibly The Department of Transport is installing average speed detectors on some 500 miles of motorways. This would be much fairer system because rather than punishing a motorist for a momentary lapse it measures a motorist's average speed over a certain distance. Rather like in France where you can be timed between the tolls and fined for speeding exceeding the speed limit.

Safety cameras are installed on many duel carriageways as well as motorways, in an attempt to reduce accidents, or raise revenue, depending on how you view it. The view of most independent experts appear to be that safety cameras have been successful, but to nothing like the degree that the government claims. Accidents do also occur at safety camera sites, when motorists brake suddenly, on seeing a safety camera. The authorities would probably say that motorists shouldn't brake when they see safety cameras and that they should instead drive within the speed limit, furthermore that the motorist that drives into the back of another vehicle shouldn't drive so close. All perfectly correct but in the real world people do brake when they see safety cameras and it does cause accidents.

A survey carried out recently by IAM Motoring Trust, revealed that a majority of motorists (78%) still feel that that safety cameras are a good thing. Although 12% less than when the same survey was carried out in 1999, only a minority of those surveyed believing that they were introduced for safety rather than raising revenue. This appears to suggest they feel that "safety cameras" can save lives in spite of the fact that the government's reasons for deploying them are cynical. It was claimed that the county of Northamptonshire initially targeted the town of Northamptonshire with safety cameras but switched the targeted area to the M1 and A14 to catch passing motorists and avoid political fallout locally. Surely if the purpose is to make the roads safer rather than raising revenue, they would want their own town safer. The problem is that this can create resentment and many inevitably ask what is happening with this extra revenue that is being generated, because we have a very poor and under funded road system compared with many other European countries.

A major source of discontentment amongst motorists is roads which appear to have illogically low speed limits. These roads seem to be far more appropriate for a 40 or 50 mph speed limit; naturally a lot of motorists get fined for speeding on these roads, assuming incorrectly that the road has a 40mph speed limit. Not surprisingly mobile detection units set up by the police favour these roads, motorists feel this is for no other reason than that they are an easy target.

Whilst an individual motorist who gets fined for speeding on one of these stretches of road, would have no idea how many other motorists are caught, we as a contract hire company do, because all our clients fixed penalty fines are sent to us the registered keeper. The numbers of fines coming through from these areas, which are clearly seen as rich pickings by the police, is quite astonishing. It makes it difficult believe that these measures have much to do with road safety. It is also worth bearing in mind when motoring abroad, it is planned that we will be pursued for speeding fines incurred in other European countries. The intention is that, before too long, it will also apply to parking tickets incurred abroad.

If safety and saving lives were the government's main aim, then imposing variable speed limits and safety cameras in the vicinity of schools would seem much more logical. In one report into child fatalities, it was stated that a child hit by a car travelling at 20 mph had a 95% chance of survival, at 30 mph a 50% chance and 40 mph only 10% survived. When a car travelling at 40 mph hits a child, they will be thrown up to 30 metres. There would not seem to be a better reason for installing safety cameras and imposing a variable speed limit at certain times of the day in these areas. One reason for not doing so could be that it is not cost effective.

Parking restrictions is another area of which motorists complain bitterly; again motorists appear to be in complete agreement with parking restrictions that serve to improve traffic flow and avoid congestion. In many towns and cities however it is difficult to see any reason for the yellow lines, other than to make motorists park on meters or in Pay and Display zones. There are some towns that then keep the parking restrictions in place on a Sunday, catching out many motorists, who not unnaturally do not expect there to be restrictions on a Sunday

Motorist's discontentment over parking restrictions is not helped by over zealous and often unreasonable traffic wardens; it is not uncommon for motorists to return to their car to find they have a parking ticket because their wheels are a few inches outside the parking bay. According to the BBC an Enniskillen based traffic warden gave out 2,590 parking violations in just over six months. Not all motorists are aware that if you return to your vehicle and the traffic warden is still writing the ticket, you can just get in your car and drive off. The benefit is twofold, firstly you do not have to pay a fine that has not been affixed to your windscreen and secondly it drives the traffic warden mad.

The London Congestion Charge was designed to reduce congestion by cutting down the number of unnecessary journeys into London but has it worked? It has certainly reduced the number of journeys cars make into London, as to whether they were unnecessary is debateable; perhaps some motorists simply can't afford to drive into central London anymore but that doesn't mean that their journeys were unnecessary.

Before he was dethroned as Mayor of London, by Boris Johnson, Ken Livingston said he was going to charge 25 for "gas Guzzling" cars to enter London. It was in the process of being challenged in the High Court, when he lost his seat. The new Mayor said the proposed charge would not be implemented.

Many ask why is it that we in Britain pay Road Fund Licence and such high levels of duty on fuel compared with many countries but still have a very poorly funded road system. In analysis carried out by The Institute of Fiscal Studies in 2005, they revealed that taxation represented 69.9% of the cost of unleaded fuel and 67.3% of the cost of diesel. Motorists additionally pay the government substantial sums in speeding and parking fines. Bitmapped images are usually continuous tone images such as photographs. Vector based images are mainly flat artwork designs such as logos, charts, symbols and illustrations.

Vector graphics can be generated in a number of programs. Firstly, there are the specialist drawing programs like AutoCad. Then there are general purpose drawing tools such as Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW. And, finally, there are any number of regular programs which inlude a set of drawing tools. This last category includes all the various programs in Microsoft Office.

Since vector images are basically mathematical formulas, the quality of these images is not fixed but, rather, depends on the environment in which the image is created. If an image is being displayed on the screen, it will be rendered at screen resolution; if it is output on a high resolution printer, it will be printed at high resolution; and so on.

In contrast to vector images, bitmapped images are often acquired rather than created from scratch. Photos are typical loaded onto a computer via a digital camera or a scanner. As far as manipulating bitmapped images, the king of the arena is definitely Adobe Photoshop which is available in a few different flavours such as Photoshop Elements as well as the main program: Photoshop CS4. Other contenders are Corel PHOTO-PAINT and Paint Shop Pro.

The quality of bitmapped images is determined when the image is acquired: when the photograph is taken or when the print is scanned. Although the quality of a bitmap can be reduced (a process known as down-sampling), it is not possible to improve the resolution or quality of a bitmap.

Another item that is specific is Prescription/RX/Medication coverage. Some plans have a Co pay depending on they type of prescription. Some only offer discounts and some cover absolutely nothing. Many plans also have limits to the amount they will pay per year as noted in #6.

Massachusetts Collusion Case Embroils Health Providers

An investigative reporting team for the Boston Globe recently uncovered a possible collusion case involving Blue Cross of Massachusetts and Partners Healthcare. The accusation involves the making of deals off the record in 2000 designed to raise health care rates across the state. Massachusetts Attorney GeneralMartha Coakley has begun an investigation into the matter.

The investigative reporting team from the Boston Globe reported that BCBS paid large premium increases over the years to Partners Healthcare, which would cover health care charges for their policyholders. Partners was to agree to seek similar high rates from other state insurance companies in the agreement. It was reported that Partners asked for $193 million over a three year period, but BCBS was wary of such a high amount because it could lead to significant rate increases for consumers. Partners reported their intent to go after similar large increases fromother insurers, so BCBS agreed to the deal.

The crack investigative team at the Boston Globe found that Blue Cross pays about 30% more to Partners Healthcare hospitals than it pays to hospitals not owned by Partners. Nine years after the scheme was hatched, BCBS, the state's largest insurance carrier pays $2 billion annually to Partners Healthcare, the state's largest provider of health care.

Relative value trading and directional trading are the two main global macro investing strategies. Directional is when you take a position thinking you know which way it is going. Relative value or rv trades are when you think that an asset is mis-priced relative to another asset.

Directional trading comes in several different styles. Some traders do their fundamental work and then buy or short based solely upon what they think the asset will do. Others trade purely on gut feel. And yet others trade technically looking at charts. Another large class of so-called global macro traders use automatic trading systems. Long term trend following is occasionally lumped into the macro category because they trade markets across the globe. They use an automated process that buys when markets trend one way and get out and go the other direction when they turn. Most of the success depends upon the risk management and not so much on the entry rules.

Finally we get to the trader who tries to incorporate all the different methods into one. It makes sense that if you combine fundamental analysis, what the asset is worth and where it is likely to go, along with technicals, what the asset is actually doing and where it has been, you should get a better end result. Yes, occasionally you will be wrong but over time your hit rate should be higher and your drawdowns should be smaller. Over time a trader that really learns what drives the particular market should do better then any of the other traders over the long haul.

But there will also be those that can control their emotions, and will stay hungry for success. They want to learn and share new ways and idea's, and keep growing.

No matter how good your intentions are or how significant your business is, I know how you feel, and how important it is to stay on purpose and succeed. But how many times can you step up to the plate and keep striking out? You need a marketing system that you and your future downline can duplicate.

Perils of a Formal Dinner

Woe to you who do not heed the perils of a formal dinner. Note, by formal I dont mean the local steak house or that quaint Italian bistro. I mean a three-plus course meal with required formal dress. Im talking about reserved seating, sitting straight, no elbows on the table, quiet chitchat and Anthony Hopkins in butler attire. Its all very civilized " and all very English, somehow. So how does one enjoy each separate, seemingly never-ending course when you have panoply of utensils to choose from? Welcome to my nightmare.

My friends and allies have promised, in the past, to give me a pinch, or even a kick to my shins when I threaten to grab the wrong utensil. Just how many formal dinners have I attended and what business do I have doing so? Lets just say there are diplomats in my family. Indeed, when Im reaching for the wrong fork or knife, it feels like I may start an international incident. When I have gaffed in the past, I was at once relived to think I might not be invited to a formal dinner again. Alas.

Let's dive right in, shall we? The golden rule with regards to the array of utensils is this: work you way in, towards your plate. All too easy, but pay attention! You must stay abreast of which course is currently being served. This can be vexing as other guests may choose to pass on a course, which is best done by discretely covering your place setting or waving away the servers. Knives and spoons are typically placed to the right of the place setting, while forks are placed to the left. Glasses, cups, and saucers are placed to the right, above the utensils, but you generally dont need to worry about them as the servers will remove or refill them, as the dinner requires. Another rule to obey, lest your plunge the world into World War Three, is to keep the cutting edge of your knives facing your plate.

Is it permissible to serve yourself from the platters on the table? Pshaw! If there are platters on the table, it isn't a formal dinner! Formal affairs are always served from the kitchen directly. Otherwise someone might call the paramedics for fear youre having an episode and are in danger of passing out.

As the courses wind down, hey will culminate in dessert and coffee. If youve made it this far, you are doing well " treat yourself to a brief forearm lean. You may have made it through this formal dinner, but bear in mind he placement of utensils and plates and glasses and bowls can all be altered, depending on who is hosting. In some countries, the dinnerware is arranged from left to right, sometimes the forks are placed to he right and the knives to he left. In some countries there is only one knife, which can be placed above the plate. Dont panic. Just remember the most important rule: work your way in from the outside in. Ad far as I know, thats one rule that holds firm regardless of where you are or who is hosting.

My Experience With Liberty League International

Because of these reasons, I left Liberty League. I looked for a new way to earn money online. One that could really teach members the skills and techniques necessary to become great marketers on the internet. It had to have the training, support, and items to sell that are in high demand..

Liberty League International Product Review:

Liberty League International has three products, with the "Beyond Freedom", being the first. It did have a lasting impression on my life, and I still believe it has good content. However, if you are not looking at the Liberty League International financial and business opportunity, you can access the information that is contained in Beyond Freedom from your local book store or on the internet.

I attended several Liberty Conferences, the second in the LLI product line. I listened to top speakers in the personal development world. The very first Liberty Conference I went too was by far the most rewarding. As I went to additional conferences, speakers almost always repeated from event to event, the actual energy of the conference diminished.

What finally turned me off was the Summit Conference. It is Liberty League internationals financial education event. It was all but informative about finances. There where speakers there giving "ideas and information" to better your financial house, but I was really let down. For a conference that costs $12,995.00 I really think LLI could have done much better. All of my close friends in LLI at the time felt the same way. It was at this time I started looking else where.

My Conclusion:

Can you make earn a living with Liberty League International? Yes. Are there better opportunities out there? Absolutely! Do through review, if you feel you are a match with what LLI offers, get started. Just make sure you know what you are getting involved with. Liberty League International changed my life in a positive way and was a part of my path to success. That being said, if I where starting in business today I would look elsewhere. I believe LLI's time has passed.
